Nourishing Communities, Transforming Lives

A Healthy Hand—our pioneering food security pilot program dedicated to uplifting rural, low-income families in Wayne County. With 89% of families finding our classes valuable, we're proud to report remarkable outcomes. Since joining, every family has seen improvements in food budgeting and security, while 67% now cook more meals at home, leading to an 89% of families reducing fast food consumption and meals with low nutrition. Families in our program are undergoing a transformative journey including healthier eating habits, increased consumption of fruits and vegetables and a reduction in processed foods. Families are also mastering cooking skills and budgeting and expressing gratitude for assistance in purchasing healthier foods. Participants feel empowered and informed about nutrition, resulting in improved confidence and well-being. The program fosters a sense of community and connection.
